Their brother John now resides next door to them at 27 Moorside Road.    He
was a regular soldier finishing his Army career as a Company Sergeant
Major.  He and his wife had six children.

MIC - Formerly 24893 11th Bn. Manchester Rgt.   Drafted to the Balkens on
the 11th October 1915.   Victory, BWM & 15 Star.

The 5th Yorkshire Rgt never went to Gallipoli, but the 11th Manchester's
did.   So he must have gone to Gallipoli with them on the 1th October 1915,
just as the Gallipoli Campaign was starting to wind down.   They left
Gallipoli on the 29th December 1915 for Mudros.   Presumably transferred to
the Yorkshire Rgt in France ???

Commemorated on the private family gravestone in St. Michael's P.C.
Flixton.

M.I. "O liberty tho' thou slay us we will trust in thee".

His brother Thomas also died on active service.

The Flixton Parish Roll of Honour lists him as serving in the 11th
Manchester Rgt.    Also his brother - Thomas is not listed on this memorial
