Born on the 2nd May 1922, the birth being registered during the June
quarter 1922 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1445, the daughter of John &
Minnie Anderson (nee Turner).

Employed as a Moulder.

CWD Record No.64.    Died as a result of blast at 24 Hadfield Street, Old
Trafford where her body was found at 01.20 hrs on the 23rd December 1940.  
Her body was taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford, where her
brother-in-Law - Vincent Kendall, 40 St. Davids Road, Cheadle, identified
the body which was released to William Briscoll (Undertakers), 8 Cuthbert
Road, Cheadle.    Described as being 5 ft 6 inches in height and of slight
build.   Dark hair, round shaped face.  Dressed in outdoor clothes.

According to family members, the bomb in question fell on the house
opposite No.24 and May was killed by the blast from it.  The CWD confirms
that she was killed by the effects of blast.

Killed on the first night of the Manchester Christmas 1940 Blitz.  Buried
on the 30/12/1940.

Death registered in Stretford Borough.
