which gives his mother's address as Daisy Bank, Grange Road, Ashton on
Mersey.

Took part in the Battle of the Marne (Chemin des Dames Breakthrough) - At
01.00hrs on ther 27th, 4,000 German artillery and mortar pieces, fired 2
million shells at the allied forces along a 30 km stretch of the front
line. 

Listed as L.S. Craven on the Ashton United Reform Church War Memorial.
