Born during the March quarter 1893 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/180,
the son of John & Annie Jackson.

1901 Census - Hale Road, Hale.   Son - aged: 8 - born: Hale.  Head of
household - John Jackson - Married - aged: 52 - occ: Builder's Labourer -
born: Altrincham.   Also - Annie Jackson - Wife - aged: 45 - born: Hale.  
Plus 5 siblings and 2 nephews.

1911 Census - 325 Hale Road, Hale Barns.   Son - aged: 18 - occ: Boot
Repairer -  born: Hale.    Head of household - John Jackson - Married -
aged: 63 - occ: Labourer with Hale U.D.C. - born: Altrincham.   Also -
Annie Jackson - Wife - aged: 55 - born: Timperley.   Plus 2 siblings.

Member of the Choir at the Hale Barns Mission Church.

Drafted to the front in September 1917.

Killed instantly by a shell burst as he was bringing wounded comrades in
from No Man's Land.

Death reported in the 21/12/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.   His
elder brother was a POW and his younger brother had been wounded, but was
now back in the Army abroad. 

Commemorated on the private family gravestone in St. Mary's Churchyard,
Ringway.

Ringway Family Grave M.I. - "He died as few men get their chance to die. 
Fighting to save the World's morality.  He died the noblest death a man may
die.  Fighting for God and Right and Liberty.  And such a death is
immortality".

No M.I. on his Flanders Headstone.

His father, John who, for many years was employed by the Altrincham
District Council, died 29/11/1911 aged 64 years and his mother, Annie died
21/03/1944 aged 88 years.
