He was gassed in May 1916.

Killed instantly together with two other soldiers when a shell burst.

Death reported in the 22/12/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Pension Records - Dependant - Mother - Mrs. A Jackson, 9 St. Margaret's
Terrace,  Church Lane, Ashton upon Mersey.   Mrs. Jackson died in 1920 and
his father's name inserted as residing at 13 Church Lane, Ashton upon
Mersey.   His mother was awarded a weekly pension of 5/- w.e.f. the 6th
April 1918.
