On the 28/08/17, whilst in the Arctic, 120 miles NE of North Cape, whilst on voyage from Manchester to Archangel, with a general cargo including ammunition it was torpedoed by U-28 and sunk. 15 crew were lost. It is reported that Frank died of exposure. Listed as Second Gunner on Stretford Town War Memorial. | |||
