Born during the June quarter 1891 in the Runcorn R.D. - ref: 8a/247, the
elder son of Rev. George Daniel Wray M.A. & Blanche Wray (nee Wilkinson).

1901 Census - Private School, Hillcrow, Barby Road, Rugby, Warwickshire.   
 Pupil - aged: 9 - born: Alton, Cheshire.       

1911 Census - The Vicarage, Thorley Lane, Timperley.     Son - Unmarried -
aged: 19 - occ: Law Student - born: Halton, Cheshire.    Head of household
- George Daniel Wray - Married - aged: 50 - occ: Clergyman, Eastablished
Church - born: Winchester Hampshire.    Also - Blanche - Wife - aged: 44 -
born: Middle, Shropshire.   Plus his grand-mother and 2 domestic servants.

St. Helen's Examiner dated: 3rd May 1913.   "Kenneth Wray, son of Revd.
G.D. Way, vicar of Timperley has passd his intermediate examination of the
Law Society.  He was articled with Messrs. Robert davies & Co, Warrington.


He was 6 feet tall.   There is a Memorial Window to him at Christ Church
P.C., Timperley.

MIC - Drafted to France on the 13th February 1915.   Awarded the BWM - 15
Star - Victory.   His father applied for his medals on the 9th September
1921 when residing at The Rectory, Long Newnton, Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Drafted to the front in February 1915 he was wounded by a shell during the
Battle of Hooge.

His death was reported in the 15/08/1916 edition of the Altrincham
Guardian.  Also in the St. Helens Examiner dated: 19th August 1916.that
stated he was articled with Mr. Herbert Hatton of Messrs. Robert Davies &
Co, Market Street.   Gazetted 2nd Lt in September 1914 going to France in
February 1915.  Promted to Captain in August 1915.

The 17/04/1917 edition of the local newspaper reported a service to the
memory of 30 Timperley men who had died and the dedication of a window in
the Church to Captain Wray. 

His father left Timperley at the end of April 1917 for Easton Grey, North
Wiltshire.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1917, which states
that he lived at Timperley Vicarage.  Commemorated on the Altrincham &
District Roll of Honour and the Timperley Sports Club Memorial.
