Air Gunner. Flying with 61 Sqn, they took off at 1802hrs from R.A.F. Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire, in a Lancaster Mk.I, No. NG182 QR-K to bomb oil installations at Harburg. They crashed at Winsen, Luhe, between the target and Lünburg. Of the 7 man crew, 2 were taken prisoner, the others are buried in Hamburg Cemetery. | |||
