Wireless Op/Air Gunner. Flying with 635 Sqn, they took off at 0028 hrs on the 4th June 1944 from RAF Downham Market in Lancaster Bomber No. ND841 F2-D for an operation to Calais to mark a coastal defence battery. On take off a swing developed and the aircraft crashed into a hanger, explodng soon afterwards. The entire crew of seven were all killed. | |||
